This video has given me chills. My brother has Autism and one of the main reasons we did not mainstream him, is because of the ignorance of people like those teachers in your sons class. I have seen first hand from "teachers" who have NO idea how to treat someone with Autism. Autism has become such a big thing and just because you go to school, doesn't mean you're qualified to teach someone with disabilities. I actually got fired from a job because of my background knowing about Autism, because I spoke up about the way these people were treating and the way they made fun of these children because they were "different" or they were acting out, or flapping their arms. It's unbelievable the way people can be so cruel. No one can understand how truly frustrating it is, unless they've had to deal with it first hand. I can't tell you how many times I or my mother have had to stop someone even on the street because of the looks or comments. But from a teacher, someone who is supposed to be accepting and caring. Someone who the child is supposed to trust and look up to for help! I may not have my degree in Special Ed, but I can guarantee I can do a hell of a better job than 90% of these teachers who have their degree. It disgusts me to know that these people are the ones who are supposed to be helping these children with basic skills of everyday life. Instead they're talking down and being cruel. Those teachers are PATHETIC and IGNORANT!!!!! I really hope you get the apology that you most certainly deserve.
